The Arizona State Parks system’s budget nearly disappeared a few years ago, after state lawmakers swept funds in an attempt to balance the budget. Several parks closed, including Oracle State Park northwest of Tucson. The Friends of Oracle State Park, an all-volunteer group, decided it was time help re-open the park they love, by opening up their wallets.
